Since 2012 UT Grain Management has successfully ventured into project management, mostly in the Southern African geographical area. However, lately it has broadened its horizons into central Africa and Southern Asia. Projects mostly focus on the grain and oilseed marketing (trading), financing and training and related industries, such as the poultry industry. Core countries in Africa are South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi. In Asia, projects were conducted in Pakistan. Projects include establishment of agri-marketing systems such as warehouse receipt systems, financial, business & mobile training, creating market information systems, insurance for smallholder farmers, GPS and satellite mapping, smallholder farmer financing models, storage, etc. UT Grain Management has, in partnership with APPSolve, a Oracle Gold partner, developed its own stock management system and farmer master database system. Both projects won the Oracle Excellence award at Open World, San Francisco.
